Update on NAMM 2025: Navigating Challenges Amidst L.A. Wildfires
NAMM 2025: In light of the ongoing wildfires that have been affecting Los Angeles for four days, NAMM CEO John Mlynczak has shared important news regarding the upcoming annual event, set to occur from January 21 to 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Mlynczak emphasized that the NAMM team is “vigilantly observing the wildfires in Los angeles and their severe consequences on local communities.” He noted that their recent focus has been on ensuring the safety of members and partners situated in the metropolitan area of L.A.
“Anaheim is situated 60 miles southeast of the wildfires and remains unaffected,” he stated. “we are collaborating closely with our partners in Anaheim and local authorities to gather accurate and timely information. Both Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and John Wayne Airport in Orange County are fully operational.”
he confirmed that, “according to the most recent updates,” the NAMM 2025 show will proceed as scheduled, albeit with some modifications.
“We have extended the deadline for badge allotments to Friday,January 10th for all member companies,and we will provide any necessary accommodations for our members and attendees in L.A. who may be impacted,” he added.
Mlynczak reassured attendees that the situation is being monitored daily, and any further developments will be communicated as the event approaches.
In a recent video,renowned guitarist Joe Bonamassa,who resides in L.A., revealed that one of his Nerdville museums, which boasts one of the largest vintage guitar collections globally, was at risk due to the wildfires. Fortunately,he later confirmed that the museum remained safe and expressed gratitude to the Los Angeles Fire Department for their heroic efforts.
The wildfires in Los angeles have tragically resulted in the loss of at least 10 lives, displacing around 180,000 residents throughout the county, with an additional 200,000 individuals under evacuation alerts, and causing extensive damage to numerous structures.
